
The Tin Alley String Quartet is rapidly achieving recognition as one of the world's most exciting young quartets. Awarded first prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2007 and first prize at the Australian Chamber Music Competition in 2005, the quartet's 2007-2008 season included concerts in Germany, Holland, Canada, the United States and Australia.
The Tin Alley String Quartet has been mentored by many of the world's finest quartets, including members of the Tokyo, St. Lawrence, Keller, Takacs and Schoenberg string quartets. It is currently quartet-in-residence at Trinity College, University of Melbourne, and will release its debut CD with Melba Records in 2009.
The concert will be held in the Recital Hall of the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts, 126 James St. South, Hamilton, on Sunday, October 19, 3 p.m. Tickets are $27 for adults, $22 for seniors and $10 for students.
