Hawks support Tucker
Before Sunday’s game at Inch Park arena, the Hamilton Hawks honoured three-year-old Tucker Patterson, the Waterdown boy who was blocked from getting on the ice at a city arena because he is wheelchair-bound. The team presented him with a signed photo and Coun. Scott Duvall gave him a package of City of Hamilton gifts. Wings eye third as season closes
At six-foot-five, Hamilton Red Wings forward Buddy Robinson was an imposing presence in front of St. Mike’s goalie Joseph Delia. The Red Wings beat the Buzzers 8-0 at the Dave Andreychuk-Mountain Arena on Monday.

Tucker Night in Hamilton

The Waterdown boy, who suffers from Leigh’s Syndrome, a severe form of mitochondrial disease, was made an honourary member of the Red Wings prior to their game against St. Michael’s at the Dave Andreychuk-Mountain Arena on Monday. Proceeds from the night’s 50/50 draw will go to mitochondrial research at the McMaster University Children’s Hospital.

Reps win
Cameron McKay of the Hamilton Reps AA Minor Bantam breaks over the London Oakridge blue line on way to scoring the first goal of his team's 4-2 win Saturday night. Ironman for Haiti
Gord Pauls has begun intensive training to help earthquake victims in Haiti. The Mountain resident will be participating in Ironman events in Penticton, B. C., in August where he will swim 3.8 kilometres, bicycle 180 kilometres and run 42.2 kilometres on three successive days. Pauls is looking for sponsors and all the money raised will be used to support Haitian relief efforts. See gordpauls.com for more information. Meanwhile, about $75,000 was raised for earthquake victims through a fun run on the Waterfront Trail last Saturday. About 1,000 runners took part.
