Classroom for learning, not texting
Letters
Nov 14, 2008
To many students’ dismay, cell phone bans are in full swing. No longer are students allowed to have their phones on vibrate in the hallways, in their pockets or stashed in their pencil cases. New rules being strictly enforced forbid students to have their mobile phones turned on inside schools, let alone have them in sight. If one wishes to make a phone call, check their inbox or send a text message, they must exit the building on their break or lunch hour and deal with their electronics outside. Don’t get me wrong, technology is great, however, the ability to call a friend during a lesson is unnecessary. Past generations lived the majority of their lives without ever owning a cell phone. Surely, mine can last seven hours a day.
