Hamilton's newest talk radio station is marking its first year on the air with an eye toward its first decade.
Talk 820 AM, which hit the air Sept. 2, 2008, is marking its first anniversary Monday morning.
Jason Farr will broadcast live from the Waterfront Conference Centre from 5:30-9 a.m. Guests will be invited to submit an item for the time capsule that will be re-opened to celebrate the Mountain-based station’s 10th anniversary.
Talk 820 program director Drew Keith said he is pleased with the results that TALK820 has gained in the marketplace.
“Since our launch, Hamiltonians have really embraced Talk 820 and it’ll be interesting to see the impact Talk 820 will have in 10 years time," he said.
Hamilton Community News managing editor Mark Cripps, a regular guest on the Mike Nabuurs and Friends show Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m., will be at the anniversary party and making a contribution to the time capsule.
