
“There’s definitely a theme,” said Acting Sgt. Patrick Mitchell. “They all seem to be related.”
Since Oct. 18 there have been 10 incidents — six of them in the past week or so in the same general area — where a rock or piece of concrete was tossed through the plate glass door of a business.
Some bottles of alcohol were taken during an overnight smash and grab at Ye Olde Squire restaurant at Fenworth Plaza on Monday.
Sometime during that same night some jewellery was taken from Gold Forever Jewellery and Repair at 171 Mohawk Rd. East.
During the overnight or early morning hours last Friday some jewellery was taken from Barry’s Jewellers at 730 Upper James and thieves smashed the door, but it appears nothing was taken at Our Place Ceramics at 308 Brucedale Avenue.
One night earlier, the cash register was stolen during a smash and grab at Complete Home Brewing at 600 Fennell Ave. East.
Police believe the same person or group is behind most of the entries.
