Re: Election sign "vandalism" on Hamilton Mountain

I read with interest the comments of the Hamilton Mountain Liberal candidate regarding vandalism of his signs on major arteries. The Conservative campaign and, I understand, the NDP campaign, have also experienced considerable sign damage, however, this damage has been within the parameters of previous elections.

While I sympathize with Tyler Banham, based on my own observations, I would respectfully suggest several other reasons for Mr. Banham's sign woes:

1. Many of his large signs were erected on stakes that were too small for the signs and sufferered extensive wind damage;

2. A large number of his signs have been erected on public property and were removed by the City of Hamilton or wrongly by individuals who apparently did not wish to see public areas decorated with Liberal signs;

3. According to many homeowners who have contacted us, his signs were erected without their permission and they have removed them.

To a considerable extent, I believe that Mr. Banham's campaign is the author of its own misfortune.

In contrast, the Terry Anderson Campaign is committed to placing signs in a proper manner with permission at the homes and businesses of our supporters, and will not be erecting signs on public property.
