Last week’s Hot Topic question of the week was: Have you ever been able to keep your New Year’s resolution?

Last year one of my resolutions was to get to the gym at least once a week. I know, that's one that everyone says each year, but even in small dividends, it paid off. I may have only lost 15 pounds, but as the saying goes, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Let's hope I can take a few more steps this year.

Having made and promptly broken many resolutions over the years, I was pleased to find a solution for keeping my resolve last year to get more organized. I added one task each day or two until it became firmly established -a habit. I used a checklist for everything from sending out birthday cards to unloading the dishwasher and it worked and I while I got the extra time I was hoping for, an unexpected side effect was less stress. Well worth the effort.
