Drowning Girl announces coveted spot on the Rogers Emerging Artist Stage

Toronto indie rockers Drowning Girl were hand picked to play this year's annual Rogers Spring Music Festival on Saturday, May 10 at the Casbah in Hamilton. The Rogers Emerging Artists stage showcases the hottest bands about to break the Canadian music scene. With their live performances described as 'a wall of sound that hits you as soon as the song kicks off' this show is definitely one not to be missed.

Drowning Girl, signed to EMI publishing is the winner of the 2007 National Radio Star Contest at Canadian Music Week. Their debut release 'Bang!' made waves on both campus and commerical radio with their hot little single 'Dead or Alive' After starting her first band at the age of 12, Drowning Girl's leading woman Hill Kourkoutis has since worked with respected Canadian artists including Tara Slone, Graph Nobel and Simon Wilcox.

Drowning Girl will hit the stage at 8:45 p.m. at the Casbah (306 King St. W). Tickets are $10.
