Plenty to do at libraries during March break

Libraries on the Mountain are holding a number of March break activities next week.

Concession Branch

• Warm Up at the Movies: Featured movie is Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. All ages. Peanut free snacks are allowed. Tuesday, March 16, 1:30 p. m.

• Cartooning With Mike Cope: Learn how to cartoon with famous artist Mike Cope. All supplies included. Ages 7-12. Registration begins March 2. Two timeslots available. Wednesday, March 17, 1:30 or 2:45 p. m.

• Picture Bingo: Be sure to drop in and try your luck. Limited seating. Ages 3-6. Thursday, March 18, 1:30 p. m.

• Movie Madness Friday: Featured movie is Disney Pixar’s Up. All ages. Peanut free snacks are allowed. Limited seating. Friday, March 19, 1:30 p. m.

• Yoga (Ages 7-10): Free lesson with trained yoga instructor Mary from A Quiet Place Yoga. Yoga mats are supplied. Registration begins March 2. Friday, March 19, 10:30 a. m.

• Concession Contest: Guess the sweets and you could win the treats. Winner announced March 20.

Sherwood Branch

• Meet The Bug Man and a Live Hissing Cockroach: Ages 5-12. Registration begins March 8. Monday, March 15, 2:30 p. m.

• Make a Glider to Take Home: Ages 5-12. Tuesday, March 16, 2:30 p. m.

• We’re Silly about Silly Putty and more: Ages 5- 12. Registration begins March 10. Wednesday, March 17, 10:30 a. m.

• Drop-in Story Time: Sherwood staff will share some favourite stories with you. Ages 3-5. Thursday, March 18, 10:30 a. m.

• Guitar Hero: Ages 12 and up. Wednesday, March 17, 2:30 p. m.

• Teen Tech Workshop: Ages 12 and up. Registration begins March 13. Thursday, March 18, 2 p. m., in the computer lab.

• Search and Rescue Dogs: Ages 5 to 12. Admission is free. Thursday, March 18 at 2:30 p. m.

Terryberry Branch

• Storytelling and Puppets: Old and new favourites (fairy tales and stories) performed by Terryberry Storytellers. Everyone is welcome. Tuesday, March 16, 2:30 p. m.

• Library Bingo: Join us for a rousing game of bingo. Win prizes playing on a bingo board of books, stories and characters. Ages 6-11. You must be able to read. Registration begins March 1. Wednesday, March 17, 2:30 p. m.

• Story Time for All Ages: Listen to stories, sing songs and enjoy puppets. No one is too young or too old. Thursday, March 18, 2:30 p. m.

• Terryberry Contest, March 15-20: To enter, all you have to do is fill out a ballot with answers to our quiz. You could win a jar filled with treasures.

Turner Park Branch

• Drop-in Story Time: All ages. Monday, March 15, 10:30 a. m. and 2 p. m.

• Board Games Day: Tuesday, March 16, starting at 10:30 a. m.

• TEEN Movie: Cirque du Freak: Tuesday, March 16, 2 p. m.
